Renewal agreement: Effective September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2028. Ratified prior to September 2024. Signed on September 17, 2024.
Wage adjustments: Effective September 1, 2024: 3% wage increase across all classifications. Effective September 1, 2025: 3% wage increase. Effective September 1, 2026: 2% wage increase. Effective September 1, 2027: 2% wage increase.
Shift premium: Overtime rate is 1.5x after 40 hours per week.
Paid holidays: Twelve named holidays, including Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day, and more.
Vacations with pay:
- Less than one year of service: 4%
- After completing one year: 6%
- After eight consecutive years: 8%
- After fourteen consecutive years: 10%
- After nineteen consecutive years: 11%
- After twenty consecutive years: 12%
Overtime: Overtime is paid at 1.5x after 40 hours per week.
Medical Benefits: Coverage includes life, accidental death, disability, extended health, dental, and vision care benefits for eligible employees.
Dental: Provided under the Health Plan with employer-paid premiums for eligible employees.
Vision: Included in the Health Plan, with a $300 annual spending account for full-time employees.
Short-term disability: Available under Alberta Employment Standards for parental and maternity leave.
Long-term disability: Included as Extended Disability Benefits under the Health Plan.
Life insurance: Included in the Health Plan Benefits.
Pension: Eligible employees participate in the Local Authorities Pension Plan (LAPP).
Bereavement leave: Up to five days for immediate family, with additional days for extended family as outlined.
Seniority – recall rights: Seniority is based on years of service, with recall rights maintained for 12 months after layoff.
Probationary period: 120 calendar days, with provisions to extend in cases of layoff or absences.
Discipline: Progressive discipline policy, with written notice required for formal disciplinary actions.
Severance: Termination pay provided per Alberta Employment Standards for layoffs extending beyond the layoff period.
Mileage: Reimbursed at the prevailing School Board rate for approved use of personal vehicles for work-related duties.
