Wage increases in each of four years of contract: Unifor
Workers at Novatech, a Montreal glass manufacturer, ratified a new four-year collective agreement on May 24.
The 80 workers, members of Unifor, Local 299, accepted the new agreement after 14 days of negotiations and two strike votes.
“We’re proud of these workers for stay committed to what they deserved,” said Renaud Gagné, Unifor’s Quebec director. “As a result, they’ve achieved a strong contract with improvements on many fronts.”
The agreement includes a wage increase of three per cent in the first year, 2.3 in the second, 2.45 in the third and 2.5 in the final year. There’s also an additional week of vacation time and increased allocation for security equipment, said the union.
