Renewal agreement: The agreement is effective until March 31, 2025, and automatically renews year to year unless amended or terminated with notice. Signed on Sept. 17, 2024.

Wage adjustments: 3.5% increase effective April 1, 2022; 3.0% increase effective April 1, 2023; 3.0% increase effective April 1, 2024.

Shift premium: Evening shift (majority of hours between 1500 and 2300): $2.26/hour; night shift (majority of hours between 2300 and 0700): $2.98/hour; weekend premium: $3.14/hour.

Paid holidays: Employees receive 12 paid holidays, including a float holiday.

Vacations with pay: 1.25 days per month of completed service to start, 3 weeks after 1 year, 4 weeks after 3 years, 5 weeks after 12 years, 6 weeks after 20 years, 7 weeks after 28 years.

Overtime: Overtime is paid at 1.5x for hours exceeding the daily or scheduling period limits; additional hour over 4 are paid at 2.0x if contiguous with a regular shift.

Meal allowance: A $9.00 meal allowance or a hot meal is provided for overtime exceeding three hours.

Medical Benefits: Employer pays 100% of extended health care premiums.

Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for the dental plan.

Vision: Vision care coverage of $300 every 24 months.

Short-term disability: Full-time employees retain coverage under the current 2009 sick leave plan. 100% of premiums paid by employer.

Long-term disability: N/A

Life insurance: Employer covers 80% of premiums; employees pay 20%.

Pension: Full-time employees are required to join the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP); part-time employees have optional enrolment.

Bereavement leave: Up to 4 consecutive scheduled working days with pay within the 9 calendar days commencing 4 days prior to the funeral, for the death of a parent, spouse, or child. Up to 4 consecutive scheduled working days with pay within the 7 calendar days commencing 3 days prior to the funeral, for the death of a sibling, parent-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, sibling-in-law, grandparent of spouse, step-parent, step-sibling, or child-in-law. 1 day with pay to attend funeral of aunt, uncle, niece, or nephew.

Seniority – recall rights: 24 months.

Probationary period: 60 shifts or 450 hours. The employer may extend another 3 months with the consent of the employee and the union.

Safety shoes: $220 allowance provided yearly for protective footwear.

Uniforms/clothing: Full-time employees receive a minimum of three uniforms annually; part-time employees receive three uniforms annually; specific roles receive up to five uniforms.

Tool allowance: The employer provides and replaces tools as required.

Mileage: Mileage reimbursement is $0.43 per kilometer, with additional parking costs covered for alternate work locations.

Sample rates of pay (effective April 1, 2024):

Controls technician, electrician, millwright, plumber, program associate, refrigeration technician, steamfitter (step 1): $35.14

Carpenter, painter (step 1): $31.91

Administrative assistant, clinical assistant, contracts officer, scheduling, statistics and research assistant (step 1): $26.43

Clerk 2, inventory control/purchaser, patient service clerk, purchasing system data administrator, supply worker, switchboard operator/receptionist, youth advisor, team assistant (step 1): $25.26
