One-quarter of workers to focus on productivity, workload in 2013: Survey

But many also want bosses to listen more closely

Roughly one-quarter (24 per cent) of employees intend to be more productive in 2013, according to a BMO Bank of Montreal survey asking Canadians to list their work-and-business-related New Year's resolutions.

Also in the top three resolutions are learning a new workplace skill (23 per cent) and networking or collaborating (22 per cent), found the survey of 1,000 adults.

While one in four business owners plan to increase the size of their workforce in 2013, only six per cent of Canadian employees would like to their bosses to do so. When asked about top recommendations for the boss in 2013, onequarter (23 per cent) of employees suggested their boss should resolve to listen more closely to their employees,
