Regulatory HR bill reintroduced in Ontario
TORONTO — The bill that would see HR professionals regulated in a manner similar to accountants in Ontario received first reading in the provincial legislature on March 20. Bill 32, the Registered Human Resources Professionals Act, 2013, is sponsored by three MPPs: Vic Dhillon (Liberal), Christine Elliott (Progressive Conservative) and Michael Prue (NDP). The new act will give members of the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) more control over their “destiny as a profession,” said president and CEO Bill Greenhalgh.
