Training program designed to manage aggression at work
A Canadian Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provider has given employers a way to take action against workplace violence and aggression.
Warren Shepell Consultants has developed safe@work, which it describes as “a comprehensive program providing training and policy-making expertise to help organizations manage workplace aggression.”
Safe@work is designed to do the following:
•help Canadian business prevent the occurrence of workplace aggression;
•teach employers how to respond safely and effectively to incidents;
•create employee awareness of the growing problem;
•encourage employers to support compliance to new workplace violence legislation for federally-regulated industries as found in the Canada Labour Code;
•prepare organizations for anticipated similar legislation for a wider range of Canadian industries.
