CIDA contributes more than $3 million to develop system
The Canadian International Development Agency is giving Jordan $3.16 million Cdn to help finance the second stage of a joint Jordanian-Canadian project for the development of computer systems to measure human resources in the Mideast nation.
John Holmes, Canada’s ambassador to Jordan, signed the agreement with Bassem Awadallah, Jordan’s planning minister, according to a report in the Jordan Times.
The HR system will collect information about the country’s workforce and help Jordan’s educational institutions direct their curriculum towards the needs of the labour market.
The Times report said Canada has given Jordan about $35 million Cdn over the last five years to help finance different development endeavours.
