Work-life balance and people skills among generation's attributes
The majority of Australian workers rank Generation X bosses as the best, according to a recent survey.
The survey of 2,000 workers found 67 per cent cited bosses born between 1961 and 1981 as being more confident leaders, fans of flexible workplaces and adept at using technology to improve business.
The survey by Australian recruitment firm Talent2 also found that 37 per cent of respondents think the Australian workplace is changing for the better because of Generation X managers.
Managers between the ages of 46 and 26 have a totally different skill set from previous generations, according to Talent2's general manager Laura Mabikafola.
Managers from this generation also value work-life balance, people skills and the idea of working smarter, not longer, she added.
