Winners of the WorkSafe Saskatchewan 2011 Youth Video Contest
Students in Saskatchewan turned on their cameras to film a message of workplace safety for WorkSafe Saskatchewan’s 2011 Youth Video Contest. (Scroll down to view the winning videos.)
The organization had high school students submit original three-minute videos on workplace safety to raise awareness and knowledge among youth about workplace health and safety issues, according to WorkSafe Saskatchewan.
This is the second year WorkSafe Saskatchewan held the contest, following the success of a pilot project last year.
The videos were judged based on creativity and originality in story development, production value, video effects and the video’s overall workplace health and safety message.
And the winners are…
First place: A WorkSafe Dream by Katie Cotter and Keyanna Burgher. Teacher: Debbie Burgher (Grade 12, Vanier Collegiate, Moose Jaw)
Second place: Safety in the Workplace by Taylor Currie, Bodie Robinson and Tallon Ruston. Teacher: Mark Selinger (Grades 11 and 12, Vanier Collegiate, Moose Jaw)
Third place: Working Safe by Dakota German. Teacher: Trent Senger (Grade 12, Sacred Heart High School, Yorkton)
