Saskatchewan introduces online OHS training

Two courses now available

Occupational health and safety courses from Saskatchewan are now available online, a move the province says will improve accessibility.

The province has introduced two web-based training courses. One explains how to prepare for and conduct workplace inspections. The second is an introduction to conducting investigations if an injury or other incident has taken place.

The courses will make important occupational health and safety information easily available and accessible to anyone who needs it, said Labour Relations and Workplace Safety Minister Don Morgan.

Each course has a $10 registration fee and can be accessed through WorkSafe Saskatchewan’s website. At the end of each course, participants who successfully complete a test will receive a certificate.

"This is the first of a number of initiatives we are undertaking as a result of recent research recommendations on how to improve the Workplace Responsibility System," said Morgan. "We are exploring new and innovative ways to protect and promote the health and safety of Saskatchewan workers."
