Effective Jan. 1, 2011, workers will earn $11 per hour — the highest in Canada
Nunavut’s minimum wage will increase from $10 per hour to $11 effective Jan. 1, 2011.
The increase will add about $2,000 per year in salary for minimum wage earners, said Finance Minister Keith Peterson in a news release.
“This minimum wage increase is a step towards poverty reduction,” he said.
Nunavut’s minimum wage will be the highest in Canada.
