Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2017, to June 30, 2020. Signed on July 1, 2017.
Shift premium: $2.50 per hour (previously $1.41 per hour) for each hour worked as mandatory foreman for that shift. $175 biweekly allowance for airport operations specialist training officer once qualified.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks to start, 3 weeks after 3 years, 4 weeks after 8 years, 5 weeks after 17 years, 6 weeks after 27 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for work after regularly scheduled hours, double time after 4 hours of overtime. Time and one-half for work on days of rest, double time after 8 hours of overtime.
Meal allowance: $17, except where free meal is provided, for employee who works 4 or more consecutive hours of overtime on regular working day. Additional $17 for each subsequent 4-hour period of overtime.
Medical benefits: Green Shield Canada plan.
Sick leave: 5.625 hours for each month in which employee received pay for at least 75 hours, maximum 520 hours accumulation.
LTD: La Capitale Insurance and Financial Services plan.
Life insurance: La Capitale Insurance and Financial Services plan.
Pension: Employees automatically become members of Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System Plan, which is DB plan, on date of hire.
Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law partner, same-sex partner, father-in-law, mother-in-law, child, stepchild, ward, parent, brother, sister, grandparent, grandchild, son-in-law, daughter-in-law; child, parent, brother, sister, grandparent of employee’s spouse or common-law partner, other relative permanently residing in employee’s household).
Call-in pay: 4 hours at applicable overtime rate for each call-in, maximum 10 hours’ pay at applicable overtime rate per 10-hour period or applicable rate of overtime for all time worked, whichever is greater.
Probationary period: Full winter season’s operations or 6 months service, whichever is greater for operations staff; 6 months for all other newly hired employees.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for level 1 disciplinary action (formal letter of reprimand, notice on file of verbal warning but no suspension); 24 months for level 2 disciplinary action (suspension without pay for up to 5 days); 48 months for level 3 disciplinary action (suspension without pay in excess of 5 days).
Severance: After 12 months of employment, 2 weeks’ pay for first year of employment; 1 week’s pay for each additional year.
Safety shoes: $175 per year for approved safety footwear. $50 per year to café, lounge employees for non-slip safety shoes.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply employees with uniforms, required clothing, when employees are required to wear uniforms.

Standby pay: One-half hour’s pay at straight time for each 4 consecutive hours on standby. Supplemental benefit: If employee is temporarily laid off, employee will receive 90% of salary for first 2 weeks of layoff; 35% of salary, maximum length of 15 weeks, dependent upon how long employee is temporarily laid off. Parking: Employer will provide parking to all employees at no cost.
