Join more than 40,000 members in province: UFCW
Applications to represent employees at The Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC) cannabis retail locations in both Rosemont and Rimouski, Que., have been certified by the province’s Administrative Labour Tribunal (Tribunal administratif du travail, or TAT), said the United Food and Commercial Workers union (UFCW), Canada.
The two new bargaining units make UFCW the first union to represent workers in Quebec’s emerging cannabis sector. Rosemont was certified on Dec. 7, and Rimouski on Nov. 26.
“The strength and resources of UFCW will provide the new SQDC members with all the tools they need to improve their working conditions and achieve their goals,” said Antonio Filato, UFCW Quebec provincial council president.
