Wage adjustments:
Effective Dec. 3, 2016: 30¢
Effective Dec. 3, 2017: 35¢
Shift premium: 90¢ per hour for hours worked between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. 75¢ per hour for warehouse associates required to continuously work in the freezer. $1.50 per hour for lead hand.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% vacation pay to start, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 20 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked beyond 8 per day or 40 per week. Time and one-half for all time worked on a holiday.
Medical benefits: 80% co-insurance. Semi-private hospital room coverage. No single or family deductible.
Dental: $1,500 yearly maximum.
Vision: $200 every 2 years.
Paramedical: $300 per year per practitioner for chiropractic, massage therapy, physiotherapy, and podiatry.
Weekly indemnity: 66 2/3% up to the EI maximum.
Sick leave: 2 paid sick days per year, paid out every December if not used.
AD&D: $28,000.
Life insurance: $28,000.
Pension: Canada Bread Western Bakery Pension Plan, a non-contributory plan for members. $50 per month based on 25 years of service for certified maintenance employees. $25 for any other employees.
Bereavement leave: 3 days with pay for employee’s parents, siblings, stepparents, stepchildren, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparents, or spouse’s grandparents. 5 days with pay for death of employee’s spouse, common law spouse, or child.
Call-in pay: 4 hours’ pay unless work not available due to act of God.
Probationary period: 3 months.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months.
Safety shoes: $135 per year for safety shoes, $160 per year for freezer boots.
Uniforms/clothing: Uniforms, freezer suits, gloves, aprons, hats, hairnets, and any other clothing required will be provided by employee.
Tool allowance: $250 per year.

Editor’s notes: Birth leave: 1 day with pay to attend birth of child. Maternity/parental leave: In accordance with Employment Standards Code. Employer will make reasonable effort to return employee to their position. Witness/jury duty: Time off with pay, less jury duty pay. Apprentices: Company will pay for tuition and books upon successful completion of program. Employee must remain with company for 2 years or reimburse company on prorated basis.
