Wage adjustments:
Effective Jan 1, 2019: 1%
Effective Jan 1, 2020: 2%
Effective Jan 1, 2021: 2.5%

Shift premium: $2 per hour for custodians, maintenance, facility operators who work night shifts. $1.25 per hour when employee partially fulfills job responsibilities in position that is at higher rate. $1.25 per hour when employee is temporarily transferred or promoted to higher-level position. $2 per hour to employees who instruct certification courses when scheduled.
Paid holidays: 12 days, plus Christmas floater day.
Vacations with pay: 3 weeks to start, 4 weeks after 6 years, 5 weeks after 10 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 or 10 hours per day or 40 or 44 hours per week. May be banked, maximum 40 hours, and must be taken within 6 months or will be paid out.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% premiums.
Sick leave: 5.54 hours for each pay period worked, maximum accumulation 960 hours.
Pension: Alberta Local Authorities Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in family (as defined in Jan. 1, 2018, Alberta Employment Standards). Additional 2 days when travelling time is required. 1 day for death of close friend or relative not listed.
Seniority – recall rights: 3 months.
Call-in pay: 2 hours at employee’s regular rate.
Probationary period: 90 days worked, maximum 6 months, whichever comes first.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months.
Safety shoes: $200 every 2 years for CSA-approved safety work boots. $50 per year for pool-deck footwear.
Uniforms/clothing: $40 per year for swimwear approved by employer.
