Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2017, to Dec. 31, 2019. Ratified on July 23, 2018. Signed on Nov. 21, 2018.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Jan. 1, 2018: 1.5%
Effective Jan. 1, 2019: 2.2%
Shift premium: $1.50 per hour for working shift where at least one-half of hours are between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. $1.50 for each hour worked from 5 p.m. Friday to midnight Sunday. $0.75 per hour for lead-hands. $0.50 per hour for employee who sprays herbicides or pesticides.
Paid holidays: 12 days.
Vacations with pay: 15 days to start, 20 days after 6 years, 25 days after 16 years, 30 days after 21 years.
Overtime: Double time for all work after regular hours. May be banked, maximum 80 hours accumulated. Any unused overtime will be paid at end of year. Maximum 5 days per year may be carried over.
Meal allowance: Employees will be eligible for meal reimbursement after every 4 hours of continuous overtime.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 60% of premiums, employee pays 40% of premiums. Employer will provide $500 per year for flex health and wellness account.
Dental: Employer pays 60% of premiums, employee pays 40% of premiums.
Sick leave: 1.5 days per month, maximum 120 days. Unused days may be carried forward, maximum 120 days accumulation.
LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 60% of premiums, employee pays 40% of premiums.
Pension: Local Authorities Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law spouse, son, daughter, father, mother, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, cousin, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, son-in-law, daughter-in-law). 1 day for death of another relative or close friend.
Seniority – recall rights: 1 year.
Call-in pay: Minimum 1 hour of pay at double time.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months.
Safety shoes: $200 every 2 years for safety boots.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide coveralls, smocks, wet weather gear and equipment, protective clothing, tools or equipment. $100 per year for Town of Ponoka logo clothing allowance.
Mileage: $0.54 per kilometre when employee returns home from out-of-town training.
