Wage adjustments:

(Adjustment of wages upwards or downwards of 0.5% for each full 0.5% change in Statistics Canada Consumer Price Index for Toronto (1992=100)).
Shift premium: 6% for senior qualified employee in progression series relative to position of supervisor. 6% for senior qualified employee in progression series relative to position of street-lighting supervisor. 6% for employee transferred to position outside bargaining unit.
Paid holidays: 11 days, plus Heritage Day if proclaimed, plus 3 additional days.
Vacations with pay: 1 day per month, maximum 10 days to start, 20 days after 6 years, 25 days after 15 years, 30 days after 25 years. Any unused portion may be carried over into following year.
Overtime: Paid at double time.
Meal allowance: $15 every 4 hours for employee continuing work past regular stopping time.
Dental: 50% co-insurance basis for fixed prosthodontic (including implants) services. $4,000 per employee and $4,000 per family member covered once per lifetime for orthodontic services on 50% co-insurance basis.
Vision: $550 per person covered for 2-year period beginning Feb. 1, 2018. Effective Feb. 1, 2020: $600 per person covered for 2-year period. Laser eye surgery on a 67% co-insurance basis, maximum $1,500 per employee, $1,500 per family member covered once per lifetime. $80 per person per 2-year period for eye exams. $50 per person per 2-year period for retinal imaging.
Paramedical: $150 for initial visit, $70 per subsequent visit, unlimited maximum for services provided inside Canada, $60 per hour for services outside Canada for licensed physiotherapist. $500 per person per year (previously $475 per person per year) for licensed chiropractor (including X-rays). Effective Feb. 1, 2020: $525 per year. Effective Feb. 1, 2021: $550 per year. $50 per visit per person for psychologist/psychotherapist, acupuncture, naturopath, speech therapist, dietician, licensed osteopath, chiropodist, podiatrist, registered massage therapist.
Sick leave: 1 day per month, maximum 10 days to start; 24 days after 1 year; 48 days after 8 years; 72 days after 20 years.
LTD: Coverage of 75% of employee’s basic monthly earnings, maximum $5,500 per month.
Pension: OMERS plan.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of parent, stepparent, partner, spouse, child, stepchild. 3 days for death of brother, brother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent, grandparent-in-law, parent-in-law, grandchild, relative residing in employee’s home. 1 day for funeral for death of aunt, aunt-in-law, uncle, uncle-in-law, or, upon employer’s approval, for relative other than those listed. President of union or delegate is permitted, without loss of pay, to attend funeral of union members and retired union members. Maximum 6 employees may serve as pallbearers at funeral of fellow employee or retired employee.
Probationary period: 6 months.
Severance: 1 week’s pay per year of service, after 3 years of service.
Safety shoes: $225 per year (previously $170 per year). $270 per year (previously $190 per year) for distribution-service technicians, certified power-cable persons, certified crew-leader cable, certified power-line persons, system-response representatives, certified crew-leader line. Employees may carry over unused funds to following year, maximum that year’s entitlement.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide overalls, coveralls, quilted bib overalls, parkas, gloves, pants, shirts.
Tool allowance: Employer will provide all hand tools as required by each job classification. $125 per year for employees who supply own personal tools; $850 per year (previously $500 per year) for fleet mechanics.
Mileage: $300 per contract year to cover difference in insurance premium cost between pleasure and business driving for employees who use own vehicle on employer’s business. $0.54 per kilometre for all kilometres travelled while on employer’s business.

Editor’s notes: Driver’s licence: Cost of driver’s licence for employees who are required to operate system vehicles, employees who are authorized to operate own automobile, will be paid by employer. Cost of medical exams for employees required to have AZ or DZ licence will be paid for by employer. Trade, professional fees: Employer will pay full cost of annual renewal of auto mechanic licence fees; annual membership fee for technicians/technologists to maintain OACETT membership; any fees related to trade certification recognized by Apprenticeship Act of Ontario; any annual membership for professional or trade certification under Apprenticeship Act of Ontario so long as such membership is required as condition of employment. Hearing aids: $3,500 every 5 years, based on recommendation from physician or audiologist, including repairs and batteries. Standby: 3 hours’ pay at straight time pay for each day on standby on weekend or public holiday; 1.5 hours’ pay at straight time pay for other week days on standby, plus in all cases, regular overtime rates for overtime worked.
