Renewal agreement: Effective June 1, 2016, to May 31, 2021. Signed on Jan. 28, 2017.
Shift premium: When flight-duty period is extended, following premiums apply: Exceeds 14 hours: $100; exceeds 15 hours: $200; exceeds 16 hours: $700; exceeds 17 hours: $800.
Paid holidays: 9 days.
Vacations with pay: 0.83 days per month, maximum 10 days to start, 0.83 days per month or 10 days after 1 year, 1.25 days per month or 15 days after 4 years, 1.67 days per months or 20 days after 10 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for time worked by cabin crew member more than 90 hours per month.
Medical benefits: Cabin crew member must join plan as condition of employment.
Sick leave: 15 sick-leave credits after completing line-indoctrination flight. 4.5 sick leave credits per month after 3 months. Maximum 80 credit hours may be accrued.
Pension: Employer will contribute maximum 2% to match employee contributions into company retirement savings plan. After 3 years, employer will contribute 3%.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in family.
Seniority – recall rights: 3 years.
Probationary period: Day after line-indoctrination flight until completion of 180 cumulative days of active duty.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 cumulative months or 24 calendar months, whichever is shorter for any disciplinary action less than 3 days' suspension (24 cumulative months or 36 calendar months, whichever is shorter for any disciplinary action more than 3 days' suspension).
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will pay monthly allowance of $85 to cover dry cleaning, alterations, footwear, winter scarf and gloves and all other service-related items.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 8.25% increase):
Flight attendant rate (0-6 mos): $26.05 rising 4 steps to $28.20
Cabin safety manager rate (0-12 mos): $38.18 rising 4 steps to $41.33
Editor’s notes: Union time bank: On Jan. 1 each year, company will give union 1,500 time bank credit hours per year. Unused credits can be carried forward to following year for duration of contract. Upon completion of contract, unused time bank credits may be used negotiate next agreement. Loss of luggage: If employee suffers temporary loss of luggage, employee will be given allowance of $75 effective immediately. Additional $75 for each subsequent 24-hour period, maximum $250. Wedding leave: Employee may be granted 7 days off without pay, which must include day of marriage/civil partnership.
