Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2016, to Dec. 31, 2018. Signed on Sept. 19, 2016.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Jan. 1, 2017: 1.5%
Effective Jan. 1, 2018: 1.5%
Shift premium: $0.25 per hour for all hours worked between 4 p.m. and 4 a.m. $0.25 per hour for all hours worked in freezer.
Paid holidays: 10 days. Employees will receive day off on their birthday.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 20 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked after 40 hours per week. Drivers earn time and one-half after 44 hours per week.
Meal allowance: $60 per day for overnight trips.
Vision: $180 every 2 years for eye glasses. $70 every 2 years for eye exams.
LTD: Employers pays 100% of premiums.
AD&D: $40,000 coverage.
Life insurance: $40,000 coverage.
Pension: Group RRSP plan. Employer, employee each contribute 3.5%.
Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (spouse, children, father, mother, stepparent, sister, brother, mother-in-law, father-in-law). 1 day for death in extended family (grandmother, grandfather, grandchild, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law). 1 additional day in case of delayed interment, burial or service.
Seniority – recall rights: 24 months.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay at time and one-half.
Probationary period: 90 days.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months. 18 months for any incident pertaining to a preventable accident of any pallet moving equipment. 36 months for any incident pertaining to preventable vehicle accidents.
Safety shoes: $175 per year for safety boots. $70 for part-time employees.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide for drivers: 1 windbreaker (seasonal), 1 winter jacket (seasonal), 3 pants, 4 shirts, 1 cap. Employer will supply freezer clothing and boots for those working in the freezer.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 3% increase):
Drivers: $24.55 rising 2 steps to $25.29
Warehouse: $23.37 rising 2 steps to $24.08
Colabor/Summit Ottawa part-time employees
Drivers: $16.22 rising 2 steps to $16.71
Warehouse: $13.65 rising 2 steps to $14.06
G drivers: $17.24
