Renewal agreement: Effective June 1, 2018, to May 31, 2021. Ratified on June 16, 2018. Signed on Aug. 20, 2018.
Shift premium: $0.70 per hour for work that begins between 12:59 p.m. and 10 p.m. Additional $0.30 per hour for work completed after 11:30 p.m. $1 per hour for work that begins between 10:01 p.m. and 5:59 a.m.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: Maximum 10 days or 4% to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 15 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day. Time and one-half for all work on sixth or seventh day of work, double time after 4 hours of overtime. Time may be taken as time off in lieu or banked, maximum 70 hours (previously 40 hours).
Dental: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. 50% reimbursement for major, orthodontics, maximum $1,500 lifetime.
Vision: $350 every 24 months.
Paramedical: $15 per visit, maximum 30 visits per year, for massage therapy.
Weekly indemnity: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums for coverage of 70% of weekly earnings, maximum $425 per week for up to 26 weeks.
Sick leave: 5 days per year, unused days will be paid out in first pay period in January each year.
LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 60% of weekly earnings.
AD&D: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums for coverage of $20,000.
Life insurance: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums for coverage of $20,000.
Pension: Employer contributes $1.79 per hour (previously $0.35 per hour), employee contributes $0.30 per hour to group RRSP.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (mother, father, spouse, common-law spouse, children, sister, brother, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, stepchildren, stepparents, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, grandparents, spouse’s grandparents any relative of employee who resides with employee). Additional 1 day for travel more than 600 kilometres away.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months.
Probationary period: 90 days within any 6 consecutive months.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year.
Severance: 1 week’s pay per year of service.
Safety shoes: $100 for safety shoes after 6 months of service. Employee may allocate unused funds for employer-approved clothing, including pants.
