Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 25, 2016, to June 30, 2018. Signed on Jan. 25, 2016.
Paid holidays: 10 days.
Vacations with pay: 10% paid weekly. Minimum 2 weeks’ vacation per year for permanent employees.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after regular hours or on Saturday or Sunday.
Meal allowance: When working more than 2 hours of overtime, hot meal or $15 will be provided, and for each subsequent 4-hour period.
Pension: Employer will pay $3.60 per hour per employee into Labourer’s Pension Fund of Central and Eastern Canada. $5.10 per hour will be paid for all overtime hours.
Bereavement leave: 4 days for death of wife, child, mother, father. 3 days for death of brother, sister. 1 day for death of grandmother, grandfather, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew.
Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours’ pay.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide rain suits, rubber boots, when required.
Tool allowance: When tools are damaged or destroyed by fire or lost by theft when in place of storage and under employers’ lock and key, liability will not exceed value of tools or $150 whichever is less.
Mileage: $0.45 per kilometre for all work outside 35-kilometre radius of Saint John, Sussex, St. Andrews, Gagetown. $100 per worked room and board for all work outside 80-kilometre radius, plus travelling time, maximum 8 hours at start and finish of employment.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after increase):
Labourers: $18.74 rising 2 steps to $20.15
Mason helper (tender): $22.72 rising 2 steps to $23.58
Editor’s notes: Shelter: Employer — on any job where 5 or more employees work — will provide sanitary and separate place of shelter where employees may change clothes and eat lunch. Tables and benches will be provided and shelter will be heated during cold weather.
