Wage adjustments:
Effective June 1, 2017: 3%
Shift premium: First-aid attendants: $0.25 per hour. Back-up first-aid/CPR attendants: $0.10 per hour. First-aid/CPR certification: $0.10 per hour. Afternoon/night shifts: $0.90 per hour.
Paid holidays: 12 days.
Vacations with pay: 1 day for each month, maximum 10 days to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 16 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for hours worked after 8 hours per day and the first 4 hours on a Saturday. All other hours, double time. Time may be banked.
Medical benefits: Health-care spending account: $350 per year for individuals, $500 per year for families.
Dental: 100% for basic services, 50% for major services, maximum $1,500 per person per year. $1,000 lifetime orthodontic coverage.
Vision: $250 per person every 2 years for glasses, $75 every 2 years for eye exams.
Paramedical: Chiropractor, osteopath, naturopath, chiropodist/podiatrist, psychologist, speech therapist, massage therapist: $350 per per year.
STD: Employer pays 100% of premiums. 66 2/3% of earnings maximum $850 per week.
LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums. 5% of earnings maximum $10,000 per month.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Coverage is greater of annual salary or $60,000.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Coverage is greater of annual salary or $60,000.
Pension: Employer pays 100% of contributions.
Bereavement leave: 5 days (4 days for 10- or 12-hour shift workers) for death of employee’s spouse or child. 3 days for death of extended family (parent, brother, sister, grandchildren, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparents, grandparents-in-law). 1 day to attend funeral of brother-in-law, sister-in-law.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay at double time if employee doesn’t receive 24 hours' advance notice. Time and one-half if employee receives notice.
Probationary period: 480 hours.
Safety shoes: Company will provide: metatarsal safety footwear (maximum $185, rubber boots with metatarsal protection).
Uniforms/clothing: Company will provide: goggles, safety goggles, gloves for welding and gas cutting operations, safety helmets, welding helmets, prescription safety glasses, gloves, adequate hearing protection, calibrated measuring tapes, winter wear.
