Shift premium: Weekend: $3 per hour where the majority of shift falls during 56-hour period from 11 p.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Monday. Night: $2 per hour from 11 p.m. until 7 a.m. Evening: $2 per hour from 3 p.m. until 11 p.m.
Paid holidays: 11
Vacations with pay: Full-time: 1 day for each month for first year, 10 days after 1 year, 15 days after 2 years, 20 days after 6 years, 25 days after 12 years, 30 days after 17 years. Part-time, casual: 4% hours worked for first year, 4% hours worked after 1 year, 6% hours worked after 2 years, 8% hours worked after 6 years, 10% hours worked after 12 years, 12% hours worked after 17 years.
Overtime: Full-time: Time and one-half for all hours worked over 7.5 hours in a shift or 75 hours bi-weekly or more than 6 consecutive days. Nurses: Time and one-half for all hours worked over 7.75 hours in a shift or 77.5 hours bi-weekly or more than 6 consecutive days. Part-time: Time and one-half for all hours worked over 7.5 hours in a shift or 75 hours bi-weekly. Part-time nurses: Time and one-half for all hours worked over 7.75 hours in a shift or 77.5 hours bi-weekly or more than 6 consecutive days.
Meal allowance: Meal ticket provided for overtime work after 3 hours.
Medical benefits: Direct pay drug card: drugs reimbursed at 80%, mandatory generic substitution, maximum dispensing fee of $9.25.
Dental: Basic treatments: once per 9 months, 100% coverage. Major treatments: 50% coverage. Maximum annual $1,200 per person per year (basic, major treatments combined).
Sick leave: Credits accrue at rate of 1.25 shifts for each 162.5 seniority hours and 167.9 seniority hours for licensed practical nurses, up to maximum 15 full-time shifts credited to sick leave account. Part-time sick leave credits on a pro-rata basis, (i.e. 9.375 hours credited sick leave for each 162.5 hours worked).
STD: Benefits commence on the 8th day of disability (after waiting period of a 7 days) payable at 66.67% of earnings.
LTD: Benefits commence 17 weeks payable at 66.67% of earnings.
AD&D: $25,000
Life insurance: $25,000
Pension: Contributions biweekly 2%. Employees eligible after completion of 3,900 seniority hours; nurses after completion of 4,030 seniority hours.
Bereavement leave: 4 days with pay (mother, father, legally recognized stepparents, husband, wife, son, daughter, stepchildren, brother, sister, common law spouse and same sex partner). 3 days with pay (grandparents, grandchildren, mother-n-law, father in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, aunt and uncle). 2 more days with pay if needed to travel more than 300 km for funeral.
Probationary period: Full-time: 3 months. Part-time: 487.5 hours. Full-time/part-time nurse: 503. 75 hours.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months.
