Wage adjustments:
Effective July 1, 2016: 2%
Shift premium: $1.10 per hour (previously $1.40 per hour) for work between 5 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. except for the following classifications: library information common assistant, library reference assistant, classroom monitor, telephone interviewer, telephone interviewer supervisor, testing-services assistant, student-feedback assistant.
Paid holidays: 11 days, plus days between Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Vacations with pay: 20 days to start, 20 days plus 1 day per year after 5 years, maximum 30 days. 10 days may be carried over in the following year.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked after 7 hours per day or 35 hours per week. Time off in lieu may be taken within 4 months of hours worked.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 75% of premiums for Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan.
Dental: Employer pays 75% of premiums.
Sick leave: 20 days per year.
AD&D: Employer pays 75% of premiums. Coverage 2 times annual salary.
Life insurance: Employer pays 75% of premiums. Coverage 2 times annual salary.
Pension: Local Authorities’ Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (parent, spouse, common-law spouse, same-gender partner, sibling, child, in-law, fiancée, grandparent, grandchild). 1 day to attend funeral as a pallbearer or mourner at a funeral.
Seniority – recall rights: 1 year.
Probationary period: 6 months.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months.
Severance: 1 month pay for less than 12 months' service. 2 months’ pay for 13 to 48 months of service. One-half month’s pay for each year of service — maximum 8 months’ pay — for more than 49 months of service.
