Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2016, to Aug. 31, 2018. Signed on July 12, 2016.
Wage adjustments:
Effective first year: 3%
Effective second year: TBD
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 6% of pay.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked after 44 hours per week. Time and one-half for all hours worked on Sunday.
Meal allowance: Meals reimbursed if working longer than 12-hour shifts.
Medical benefits: CLAC Health and Welfare Trust Fund. To start: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50%. After employee has reached 1 year or 2,000 hours (whichever is less), the employer pays 100% of premiums.
Dental: Basic services: 100% coverage, maximum $2,000 per person per year. Comprehensive: 50% coverage, maximum $2,000 per person per year. Orthodontic: 50% coverage, maximum $3,000 lifetime maximum per child younger than 19.
Vision: $300 per year for child younger than 21. $300 every 2 years for older than 21.
STD: 60% weekly earnings, maximum $600 per week.
LTD: 60% weekly earnings, maximum $2,600 per month.
AD&D: $100,000 coverage.
Life insurance: $100,000 coverage.
Pension: Employee may contribute $0.50 or $1 per hour into the retirement savings plan administered by the CLAC Health and Welfare Fund. Employer will match contributions, maximum $2,000 per year.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law spouse, child, legal dependant, parents, parents-in-law, legal guardian, brother, brother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren).
Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours’ pay.
Probationary period: 60 days.
Safety shoes: $100 per year for CSA-approved steel-toed boots.
Tool allowance: Employer will provide all power tools. Basic tool list: hacksaw, hammer, rubber mallet, measuring tape, snips, set of screw drivers, glazing bar, tool box, safety harness and lanyard.
Mileage: $0.49 per kilometre for work outside of Edmonton.

First-year apprentice (60%): $22.90
Second-year apprentice (70%): $26.58
Third-year apprentice (80%): $30.48
Fourth-year apprentice 190%): $34.27

Editor’s notes: Out-of-town work: For work outside of town, employer will provide room (for 2 people) and minimum $35 per day subsistence allowance. Prescription safety eyewear/hearing aids: The employer will reimburse an employee 50% of the cost of prescription safety eyewear or hearing aids up to $300. For the first reimbursement, employee must have worked 600 hours. For the second and all subsequent reimbursements, employee must have worked 4,000 hours.
