Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2016, to Dec. 31, 2018. Signed on April 27, 2016.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Jan. 1, 2016: $0.40 per hour
Effective Jan. 1, 2017: $0.40 per hour
Effective Jan. 1, 2018: $0.40 per hour
Shift premium: Fumigation license: $0.40 per hour.
Paid holidays: 12 days, plus 2 floating days.
Vacations with pay: 4% after 1 year, 6% after 5 years, 8% after 10 years, 10% after 19 years, 12% after 29 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked after regular hours. Double time after 12 hours per day. Time and one-half for first 8 hours on Saturday, double time after. Double time for all hours worked on Sunday.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Sick leave: 4 days per year — may be carried over — maximum 6 days in bank.
Pension: Employer will contribute $0.45 per hour — employee will contribute $0.90 per hour — for employee-sponsored group RRSP.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, brother, sister, spouse, child, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren, relatives residing with the employee). 1 day for death in extended family (son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, uncle, spouse’s grandparent). 1 day to act as a pallbearer.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months, 24 months for 5-year employees.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay. Time and one-half for work on Saturdays, double time for Sundays.
Probationary period: 120 days within 1-year period.
Safety shoes: $175.
Uniforms/clothing: Employees will receive summer, winter and special gloves; rain gear.
Tool allowance: Company will replace stolen or unserviceable tools.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after $0.80 per hour increase):
Lead hand: $29.24 rising 2 steps to $30.04
Operator 1: $27.74 rising 2 steps to $28.54
Operator 2: $25.85 rising 2 steps to $26.65
Operator 3: $22.80 rising 2 steps to $23.60
Part-time (trained): $22.80 rising 2 steps to $23.60
Part-time: $17.30 rising 2 steps to $18.10
