Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2016, to Dec. 31, 2019. Ratified on Feb. 14, 2017. Signed on Dec. 7, 2017. 
Wage adjustments: 
Effective Jan. 1, 2016: 1.92%
Effective Jan. 1, 2017: 1.92%
Effective Jan. 1, 2018: 1.95%
Effective Jan. 1, 2019: 2%
Paid holidays: 12 days. 
Vacations with pay: 15 days to start, 20 days after 5 years, 25 days after 16 years, 30 days after 22 years. Maximum 5 days may be carried over to following year. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 7 hours per day or 35 hours per week. For full-time employees working less than 35 hours per week, overtime will be paid for all work after 8 hours per day or 35 hours per week. Maximum 32 overtime hours per week, unless emergency exists. 
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. 
Dental: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. Maximum combined reimbursement: $1,500 per calendar year for basic and major restorative services, including dentures. 90% reimbursement of basic services; 80% reimbursement for dentures; 50% reimbursement for major restorative services such as crowns and bridges. 50% reimbursement for orthodontics with $3,000 lifetime maximum per claimant.
Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums for $350 per claimant every 24 months. Maximum $80 every 24 months for eye examinations.
Paramedical: Employer pays 100% of premiums for $1,250 combined maximum per person per year for paramedical services above amount covered by provincial plan including psychologist, physiotherapist, chiropractor, osteopath, chiropodist, podiatrist, naturopath, speech therapist, masseur, acupuncturist.
LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 75% of employee’s salary.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 2 times employee’s basic salary, minimum coverage of $100,000 per employee. 
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 2 times employee’s basic salary, minimum coverage of $100,000 per employee. 
Pension: Full time employees must join Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System. 
Bereavement leave: 4 days for death of spouse, child, stepchild, mother, father, substitute parent, sister, brother, mother-in-law, father-in-law. 3 days for death of brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent, grandparent of current spouse, grandchild. 1 day for death of aunt, uncle, niece, nephew. 1 additional day if travel is greater than 350 kilometres away.
Seniority – recall rights: 6 months if accepting permanent position outside bargaining unit, 24 months if accepting temporary position outside bargaining unit. 3 years if employer reinstates position which triggered layoff.
Probationary period: 6 months for full-time, 455 hours worked from date of hiring or 12 consecutive months, whichever happens first, for part-time. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months.
Severance: 2 months' pay after 1 year of service; 3 months' pay after 3 years of service; 4.5 months' pay after 5 years of service; 7 months' pay after 10 years of service; 10 months' pay after 16 years of service; 14 months' pay after 20 years of service; 18 months' pay after 25 or more years of service. 
Safety shoes: $130 per year, including taxes, for protective footwear. 
Uniforms/clothing: Every third year, employees who are required by employer to wear uniform will be issued 7 shirts, 7 pairs of pants. 
Mileage: $0.53 per kilometre (previously $0.50 per kilometre) for employees travelling on library business or to attend meeting at other branch or elsewhere within city limits.

Editor’s notes: Reporting: Employees will not be required to work at location more than 35 kilometres from regular work location unless employees agree to do so. This does not apply to meetings or training sessions and situations where work has been relocated. Hearing aids: $1,000 per claimant every 7 years. Legal protection: Employer will provide legal protection to employees in situations arising directly from responsible discharge of duties by employee or resulting from carrying out of official orders. Transit subsidy: Employer will pay for 25% of cost of OC Transpo Ecopass or PRESTO Smartcard.
