Deal affects more than 7,000 workers
The Ontario Council of Educational Workers (OCEW) signed a tentative agreement on Jan. 31, to extend its collective agreement beyond its current expiry date of Aug. 31, 2017, to Aug. 31, 2019.
The deal was reached after negotiations with the OCEW, The Ontario Public School Boards’ Association, The Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association, The Council of Trustees' Associations, and the province.
Details are being withheld pending ratification. Information will be shared with union members through the ratification process, said the union.
The Ontario Council of Educational Workers is a bargaining council made up of six unions representing more than 7,000 workers in 18 bargaining units at public and Catholic school boards across Ontario.
