Paid holidays: 10 days, plus 1 float holiday.
Vacations with pay: 1 day per month, maximum 10 days or 4% to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 5 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 10 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours or 80 hours per week.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. Lifetime maximum $25,000 combined hospital and drug coverage.
Dental: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.
Vision: $300 every 2 years.
Sick leave: 7 days per year personal leave, which may be used as sick leave.
LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $15,000.
Pension: Employer matches employee RRSP contributions, maximum 3% (previously 2%).
Bereavement leave: 5 shifts for death in immediate family (parent, spouse, child, sibling, stepmother, stepfather). 3 days for death in extended family (current parents-in law, grandparents, great grandparents, grandchildren, current siblings-in-law, daughter, son-in-law). 1 day to attend funeral of blood-related aunt or uncle. 5 additional unpaid days where it is necessary because of distance.
Seniority – recall rights: 18 months.
Call-in pay: Employee who is called in will receive minimum 3 hours’ pay at regular rate of pay. Employee who has left premises and is called back will receive minimum 3 hours’ pay at time and one-half regular rate of pay.
Probationary period: 3 months or 488 hours worked, whichever comes first; 250 hours for casual employees.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for letters of discipline; 24 months for suspensions.
