Higher wages, premiums part of deal: UFCW
United Food and Commercial Workers Canada (UFCW), Local 1252 members and hospitality workers in Newfoundland won a new contract on Sept. 29 with the Mount Peyton Resort and Conference Centre, located in Grand Falls-Windsor, N.L.
The new three-year deal includes wage increases throughout the contract as well as other important gains, including increased staff premiums, training allowance, night shift premiums and enhanced bereavement leave.
Mount Peyton offers accommodations and amenities for groups of all sizes. UFCW 1252 make this resort possible by working in a number of roles, including cooks, bartenders, housekeepers, front-end staff and maintenance.
