30 employees join 170 already part of union
More workers at CLS Catering are members of United Food and Commercial Workers Canada (UFCW) after recently voting to joining Local 175.
“These employees felt overworked and underpaid,” said Amy Tran, UFCW Canada Local 175 organizer. “They also saw that their unionized co-workers paid far less for their health benefits and wanted to secure the same kind of rights and improvements that others already enjoyed with UFCW 175.”
The 30 new members, based in Mississauga, Ont., join more 170 CLS Catering workers who are already members of the union.
The new members work as flight coordinators, checks, and account managers for one of the world’s largest airline caterers, said UFCW.
