Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2016, to June 30, 2018. Signed on Oct. 24, 2016.
Shift premium: $0.05 per mile for all miles travelled in B.C.
Paid holidays: 10 days.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% to start, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 9 years, 5 weeks after 15 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.
Medical benefits: Alberta Medicare Health Plan. 100% of premiums paid by employer.
Dental: 100% of premiums paid by employee.
Weekly indemnity: $427 per week, maximum 26 weeks.
AD&D: $20,000 coverage per incident.
Life insurance: $20,000 coverage.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in family (spouse, common-law spouse, mother, father, sons, daughters, stepchildren, sisters, brothers, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandmother, grandfather, grandchildren).
Seniority – recall rights: 6 months.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay.
Probationary period: 90 days.
Uniforms/clothing: $250 per year for uniforms.
Sample rates of cents-per-mile pay (current):
Sleeper-cab drivers: $0.47
Single-man operation: $0.36 rising 1 step to $0.42
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after increase):
Rates for work time, wait time, layover: $17.75 rising 1 step to $20.50
City pickup and delivery drivers: $19.50 rising 1 step to $22.50
Editor’s notes: Cellphones: Employees will be allowed, but not compelled, to carry cellphones. The employer will pay $50 per month towards the cost.
