Wage adjustments:
Effective first Sunday following June 28, 2018: 2.5%
Effective first Sunday following June 28, 2019: 2.5%
Effective first Sunday following June 28, 2020: 2.5%
Effective first Sunday following June 28, 2021: 2.5%
Shift premium: $0.95 per hour (previously $0.90 per hour) for all work on shift beginning after noon and before 7 p.m. $1.25 per hour (previously $1.10 per hour) for all work on shift beginning after 7 p.m. and before 6 a.m.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 1 day per month, maximum 10 days to start, 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 3 years, 4 weeks after 8 years, 5 weeks after 14 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week or for work on statutory holidays. Double time after 10 hours per day.
Meal allowance: $10 after 2 hours of overtime.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 70% of premiums for Alberta Health Care.
Dental: Employer will contribute $0.43 per hour (previously $0.38 per hour) to United Food and Commercial Workers’ Union Dental Care Plan, maximum 40 hours per week per employee.
Vision: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
Weekly indemnity: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
Sick leave: 3 hours per month to start; 40 hours per year after 1 year of service. Unused sick leave hours will be paid out every year, maximum 40 hours.
LTD: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
AD&D: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
Pension: All eligible employees will have opportunity to join company pension plan.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, (including common-law, same-sex partner), father, mother, child, stepchild, brother, sister, legal dependent, stepparent. 3 days for death of mother-in-law, father-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandfather, grandmother, grandmother-in-law, grandfather-in-law, grandchild. 1 day for death of aunt, uncle.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months.
Probationary period: 90 days of service, 180 days for part-time.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months.
Severance: 1 week after 3 months of service; 2 weeks after 2 years of service; 4 weeks after 4 years of service; 5 weeks after 6 years of service; 6 weeks after 8 years of service; 8 weeks after 10 years of service.
Safety shoes: Effective Jan. 1, 2019: $235 every second year (previously $230 every second year). Effective Jan. 1, 2020: $240 every second year.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply new aprons, smocks when required. Winter coats will be available for employees working in shipping and receiving, machine operators, narcotics, fridge and freezer.
