Renewal agreement: Effective Oct. 23, 2017, to Feb. 29, 2020. Ratified on Oct. 23, 2017. Signed on Jan. 15, 2018.
Shift premium: $1 for each hour worked between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.
Paid holidays: 10 days.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 10% after 10 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 80 hours per pay period.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 70% of premiums, employee pays 30% of premiums.
Sick leave: 1/2 day per 200 hours of service, maximum 4 days per year, maximum 10 days of accumulation.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, son, daughter, mother, father, sister, brother, mother-in-law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparents, and grandchildren, step-children, legal guardian). 1 additional day if travel is more than 450 kilometres 1-way.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months.
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours’ pay.
Probationary period: 450 hours worked.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months. All disciplinary action in regards to resident abuse will remain permanently in employee’s file and may be relied on in administration of discipline or for purposes of job posting at any time in future.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide jackets, aprons for cooks; 2 tops twice per year for housekeepers; aprons, ties for servers.
Mileage: $0.52 per kilometre.
