Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2016, to April 30, 2019. Signed on June 22, 2016.
Shift premium: $2 per hour for all work outside regular work day.
Paid holidays: 9 days.
Vacations with pay: 4 weeks per year, 10% vacation pay.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked after 40 hours per week.
Pension: Labourers Pension Fund of Central and Eastern Canada: $5.95 per hour paid into fund. Effective May 1, 2017: $6.20 per hour. Effective May 1, 2018: $6.45 per hour.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply safety hard hats, safety glasses, reflective vests, caps, rain suits. Parkas and uniforms provided under cost-sharing program. Coveralls provided at $2 per week deduction from pay.
Mileage: $0.52 per kilometre.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 3% increase):
Labourers: $36.94 rising 2 steps to $38.05
Casuals: $26.82 rising 2 steps to $27.63
Lead hands: $39.32 rising 2 steps to $40.51
Editor’s notes: Fire insurance: $300 for clothing damage by fire or loss due to theft on job site. Downtown parking allowance: $17.25 for parking in Toronto in the following areas: East of Keele Street running south until it becomes Park Side Drive on the west. The south side of Finch Avenue on the north and the Don Valley Parkway South to Lakeshore Avenue, east of Leslie, the south to the lake on the east. Union administration fund: 2% of the hourly rate will be paid to the Labourers’ International Union, Local 506 Administration Fund. Allowance: Group 2 piece-workers will receive $120 every six months.
