Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2018, to June 30, 2019. Signed on Aug. 8, 2018.
Shift premium: 12% for first 6 months, additional 2% after 6 months, maximum 14%, for employee assuming responsibility of non-union position.
Paid holidays: 12 days.
Vacations with pay: 1.25 days per month or 15 days after 1 year, 1.67 per month or 20 days after 6 years, 2.08 days per month or 25 days after 16 years, 2.5 days per month or 30 days after 24 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours after 37.5 per week or 7 1/2 hours per day; 35 hours per week or 7 hours per day for visitor services. May be banked, maxim 37 1/2 hours, must be used before 10th pay period following period it was earned. Time may also be contributed into employer’s RRSP.
Meal allowance: $25 for employees who work 3 hours of overtime when overtime is extension of day’s work. Additional $25 after each subsequent 3 hours of overtime.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
Sick leave: 1 1/4 days per month, maximum 15 days per year. Maximum accumulation 25 days. 15 hours per year to attend medical or personal appointments.
STD: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
LTD: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums for coverage of 65% of regular pay, after 105 days on STD plan.
AD&D: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
Pension: After 9 months of service, employer will contribute 5%, employee will contribute 5% to RRSP held in employer’s name.
Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in family (common-law spouse, same-sex partner, spouse, child, brother, sister, parent, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, grandchild, grandparents). Additional 2 days for travel more than 300 kilometres.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months.
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours at overtime rates or actual hours worked at overtime rates, whichever is greater.
Probationary period: 6 months for schedule B employees; 12 months for schedule A employees.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for notices or letters; 24 months for suspensions.
Severance: 2 weeks' current salary plus 1 week’s current salary for every year of service, maximum 26 weeks, plus 1 week’s current salary for employees older than 49 years old. Outplacement services: $2,500 for employees younger than 50 years old; $3,500 for employees older than 49 years old.
