Renewal agreement: Effective Feb. 1, 2016, to Jan. 31, 2020. Ratified on May 31, 2017. Signed on May 26, 2017.
Shift premium: $0.15 per hour to employees working in department on shift when more employees are scheduled to work that shift than on day shift in that department. $0.40 per hour for hours worked on second shift between 3 p.m. and 1 a.m. $0.50 per hour for hours worked on third shift between11 p.m. and 9 a.m. $1 per hour above pay rate for all hours spent as assigned trainer. $0.70 per hour more than highest job class for which employee is responsible to direct when acting as lead-person.
Paid holidays: 11 days, plus 1 floating holiday.
Vacations with pay: 1 day per month, maximum 10 days to start, 2 weeks after 2 years, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 9 years, 5 weeks after 15 years, 6 weeks after 22 years, 7 weeks after 30 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week and first 4 hours on Saturday. Double time for all work after 11 hours per day or 44 hours per week and subsequent 4 hours on Saturday and for all hours worked on Sunday.
Meal allowance: When working more than 2.2 hours of overtime, employer will provide a hot meal when possible. In lieu of meal, employer will pay $14 to employee. Employer will provide hot meal when employee works more than 12 hours per day.
Paramedical: Employer will provide health-spending account of $350 per employee per year, to offset cost of massage therapy, chiropractic and physiotherapy only.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of father, mother, brother, sister, spouse, son, daughter, grandchild. 3 days for death of mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandmother, grandfather. 1 day for death of brother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, spouse’s grandmother, spouse's grandfather.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months after 120 days of seniority. 24 months after 2 years of seniority. 36 months after 3 years of seniority. 42 months after 4 years of seniority. 48 months after 5 years of seniority.
Call-in pay: 2 hours' pay at straight time plus one and one-half times straight time hourly rate for all hours worked outside regularly scheduled hours as overtime pay for emergent work. Minimum of 4 hours' pay at straight time rates will be paid for emergency call-in.
Probationary period: 120 days.
Severance: 1 week's pay with 1 year of service; 4 weeks’ pay with 2 years of service; 10 weeks’ pay with 4 years of service; 14 weeks’ pay with 8 years of service; 20 weeks’ pay with 10 years of service; 24 weeks’ pay with 20 years of service.
Safety shoes: $225 per year (previously $200 per year) for employer-approved safety boots that must include metatarsal protectors.
Tool allowance: Employer will reimburse apprentices for tool purchases: $400 for millwright and heavy-duty mechanic; $150 for electrician or electronics technician; $50 for welder.
