Wage adjustments:
Effective May 1, 2018: 1%
Effective May 1, 2019: 1.75%
Effective May 1, 2020: 1.75%
Shift premium: $2.50 per hour for work between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. $1.50 per hour for work shift whereby major portion of shift is between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 4% to start, 10 days or 4% after 1 years, 15 days or 6% after 4 years, 20 days or 8% after 10 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work outside normal workday, normal work week or on general holiday.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums. Employer will provide $300 per year health spending account.
Dental: 70% basic coverage, maximum $1,000 per year. 100% accidental coverage, unlimited.
Sick leave: 0.0375 hours per hour worked, maximum bank of 250 hours.
Life insurance: Coverage of $25,000.
Pension: Employer will match employee contributions, maximum 3%, to RRSP.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of mother, father, mother-in-law, father-in-law, husband, wife, son, daughter, stepchildren, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, legal guardian, common-law spouse, same-sex partner, stepparent, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparents of employee or employee’s spouse, grandchild, fiancé. 1 day to attend funeral after death of another relative, close friend. Additional 2 days for travel more than 300 kilometres one-way.
Seniority – recall rights: 18 months.
Probationary period: 500 hours worked or 6 months, whichever is shorter.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months.
Severance: 2 weeks’ pay per year of service for closure, loss of contract, layoff.
