Agreement reached after conciliation talks
Thirty-six public health nurses and registered nurses working for the Elgin St. Thomas Public Health Unit have overwhelming ratified a new contract. The employer holds a ratification vote on Nov. 8.
The new collective agreement was reached during conciliation talks in mid-October. The registered nurses are members of the Ontario Nurses Association (ONA).
ONA is the union representing 62,000 registered nurses and allied health professionals, as well as more than 14,000 nursing student affiliates, providing care in hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, clinics and industry.
