Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2014, to June 30, 2017. Signed on Sept. 25, 2015.
Wage adjustments:
Effective July 1, 2014: 2%
Effective July 1, 2015: 1.75%
Effective July 1, 2016: 1.5%
Shift premium: $1.50 per hour for shifts worked between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. $1.50 per hour for all hours worked between 12:01 a.m. on Saturday and 7 a.m. on Monday.
Paid holidays: 12 days.
Vacations with pay: 1 1/4 days per month worked to start, 3 weeks after 1 year, 4 weeks after 10 years and 5 weeks after 20 years.
Meal allowance: $7 after 3 hours of overtime.
Sick leave: Full salary employees will be paid for the first 125 working days of sick leave in any 1-year period.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for employee’s parent, spouse, child, stepchild, ward, grandchild or relative living permanently with the employee. 3 days for employee’s parent-in-law, grandparent, sibling, stepsibling, half-sibling, sibling-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law or stepparent. 1 day for employee’s uncle, aunt, nephew, niece, sibling-in-law, foster parent or spouse’s grandparent. Additional 2 days for travel if service takes place more than 200km away from employee’s residence.
Seniority – recall rights: 1 year.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours at regular rate of pay. Minimum 4 hours at double time when employee is called in on a day off.
Probationary period: 6 months.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year. 5 years for discipline relating to serious wilful misconduct, serious disobedience or neglect of duty. Discipline relating to sexual harassment, assault — including sexual assault — or theft is not covered by this article.
