Renewal agreement: Effective Oct. 14, 2017, to Aug. 31, 2019. Ratified on Oct. 14, 2017. Signed on Oct. 14, 2017.
Wage adjustments: 
Sept. 1, 2017: 0%
Sept. 1, 2018: 0%
Shift premium: $0.42 per hour for certificate A. $0.24 per hour for certificate B.
Paid holidays: 13 days, including Christmas floating holiday. 
Vacations with pay: 15 days or 6% to start, 20 days or 8% after 8 years, 25 days or 10% after 17 years, 30 days or 12% after 25 years. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. May be taken as time off in lieu within 3 months of when it was earned. Time and one-half for custodians opening school for authorized meetings. Double time for work between midnight and 8 a.m. 
Medical benefits: Employer pays 94% of premiums, employee pays 6% for Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan. Health spending account: $175 for Sept. 1, 2018. Effective March 1, 2019: $350 per year. Effective Aug. 31, 2019: $500 per year.
Dental: Employer pays 94% of premiums, employee pays 6%.
Vision: Employer pays 94% of premiums, employee pays 6%.
Sick leave: 2 days per month, maximum 24 days per year for staff hired for 12 months; 20 days per year for staff hired for 10 months. Unused days may be accumulated, maximum 200 days. 
AD&D: Employer pays 94% of premiums (previously 93%), employee pays 6%.
Life insurance: Employer pays 94% of premiums, employee pays 6%.
Pension: All employees working 30 hours or more per week will be automatically enrolled in Local Authorities Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, child, sister, brother, parent, parent of spouse, foster-child, member of household. 1 day for death of grandparents, granddaughter, grandson, grandparents of spouse, a sister-in-law, brother-in-law. 2 additional days for any travel greater than 300 kilometres. 
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months. 
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours at time and one-half. Double time for work between midnight and 8 a.m.
Probationary period: 6 months. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months.
Safety shoes: $100 per year for work shoes.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current):
Custodian start rate: $23.31
Custodian job rate: $24.68
Light-duty cleaner (FTE = 0.50): $19.54
Summer students: $16.21
Surveillance agents: $16.21
Editor’s notes: Refresher training: Employer will reimburse 100% of cost for enrolment and manuals for employee who successfully completes technical, professional or correspondence course. Employer will reimburse 100% of fees to renew building operator A certificate or building operator B certificate in schools with boiler.
