Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 1, 2018, to Aug. 31, 2019. Ratified on Oct. 2, 2018. Signed on Nov. 26, 2018.
Shift premium: $2 per hour for working on weekends, statutory holidays.
Paid holidays: 12 days.
Vacations with pay: Number of full months worked divided by 12, times 10 days or 4% to start, 15 days or 6% after 1 year, 17.5 days after 5 years, 20 days after 10 years, 22.5 days after 15 years, 25 days after 20 years, 30 days after 25 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. May be accumulated, maximum 24 hours per year. Unused time will be paid out by Aug. 31 every year.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. $325 per year for health spending account.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Sick leave: 2 days per month, may be accumulated, maximum 75 days. 5 days from sick bank for illness or hospitalization of immediate family member including parent, spouse (common-law, same-gender partner), child or others when arrangements for care cannot be provided by another family member.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: As condition of employment, eligible employees will participate in Local Authorities Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, child, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, parent, legal guardian, brother, sister, parents of spouse, grandparents, grandchildren, grandparents of spouse, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, relative who is member of employee’s household. 1 day for death of aunts, uncles of employee or spouse; nieces, nephews of employee or spouse. One-half day to attend funeral as pallbearer.
Seniority – recall rights: 7 months.
Probationary period: 3 months.
