Ratification bonus: $1,000 after 10 years of service; $600 after 5 years; $400 with less than 5 years.
Shift premium: $0.50 per hour above highest rate in department providing lead person is qualified on highest-rated job in department or level 4, whichever is higher for lead-persons. $0.35 per hour ($0.52 per hour for overtime; $0.70 per hour for double time) for employees who work between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Paid holidays: 10 days.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 20 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Double time for all work on Sunday or day designated as employee’s Sunday.
Meal allowance: $10 when employee works after 10 or 12 hours and 7 minutes.
Medical benefits: Employer will pay 100% of Alberta Health Care and Sun Life premiums after 3 months of employment.
Dental: $2,000 per year (previously $1,500 per year) maximum coverage for all services. $1,500 per lifetime (previously $1,000 per year) maximum coverage for orthodontics.
Vision: $250 maximum per employee, employee’s spouse and children every 2 years. Includes eye exams.
LTD: Maximum $1,800 per month.
Pension: Employer will provide payroll-administered group RRSP.
Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (parent, stepparent, parent-in-law, spouse, child, stepchild, ward, sibling, stepsibling, sibling-in-law). 1 day for death of grandparent, spouse’s grandparent.
Seniority – recall rights: 2 years.
Probationary period: 60 days worked.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year for individual disciplinary decisions; 2 years for work-rule violations.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will furnish rubber boots, rubber aprons, rubber gloves. Employer will provide maximum 2 cooler-jackets per year for shipping employees.
Tool allowance: Employer will provide tools, equipment necessary to perform jobs safely including mechanics’ hand tools. Employer will provide employee to sharpen knives.
