Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 2, 2018, to Jan. 1, 2022. Signed on Jan. 2, 2018.
Shift premium: $0.25 per hour for all work on manual MIG-weld operation.
Paid holidays: 9 days, plus 4 float days. 
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years, 4 weeks or 9% after 15 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 20 years. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or on Saturday after employee has worked 40 hours per week. Double time for work on Sunday after employee has worked 40 hours per week. 
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. 
Dental: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. $2,225 maximum per year (previously $2,100 per year) for basic dental, periodontal scaling (maximum to 4 units per year). 50% co-pay, $1,375 maximum per year (previously $1,300 per year), for dentures, porcelain fillings, crowns, bridges. 50% co-pay, $800 lifetime maximum (previously $750 lifetime), for orthodontal coverage for dependent children younger than 21.
Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $220 every 24 months (previously $205 every 24 months).
Paramedical: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums for coverage of $350 per year for physiotherapy.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $26,500. Effective Jan. 2, 2019: $27,000. Effective Jan. 2, 2020: $27,500. Jan. 2, 2021: $28,000.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $25,500. Effective Jan. 2, 2019: $26,000. Effective Jan. 2, 2020: $26,500. Jan. 2, 2021: $27,000.
Pension: Employer will contribute to new retirement savings plan set up for employees. Effective Jan. 2, 2018: $1.35 per hour (previously $1.25 per hour). Effective Jan. 2, 2019: $1.40 per hour. Effective Jan. 2, 2020: $1.45 per hour.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of child, current stepchild, spouse, employee’s parents. 3 days for death of current stepparents, spouse’s parents, brother, sister, grandparents, grandchildren, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, spouse’s grandparents.
Seniority – recall rights: 18 months after 6 months of seniority; 26 months after 5 years of seniority; 36 months after 15 years of seniority. 
Call-in pay: Minimum of 2 hours’ pay at time and one-half hourly rate.
Probationary period: 480 hours worked. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for demerit slips due to injury or near-miss safety infraction.
Safety shoes: $125 per year (previously $115 per year) for certified steel-toed safety shoes. Employees in dept. 6 (who have worked in dept. 6 for more than 52 weeks during contract) will be entitled to 1 extra pair of certified steel-toed safety shoes during life of contract.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide safety glasses, adequate glove and arm guards (to be maintained by employer), hearing protection and other safety equipment. Employer will provide 5 sets of coveralls per week to persons in setup processor, crane, tool and die repair classifications. Laundry service will be provided by employer.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after $0.60 per hour increase):
General processor: $23 rising 3 steps to $23.60
Janitor: $23 rising 3 steps to $23.60
Material handler: $23.40 rising 3 steps to $24
Auditor: $23.40 rising 3 steps to $24
Set-up processor: $23.80 rising 3 steps to $24.40
Lift-truck operator: $23.80 rising 3 steps to $24.40
Crane operator: $23.80 rising 3 steps to $24.40
Tool and die repair: $29.85 rising 3 steps to $30.45
Editor’s notes: Assistive devices: $275 (once only per agreement) for employees who are prescribed, by medical doctor or chiropractor, non-drug assistive device (splint, brace, support hose) for which coverage is not provided from any other source.
