Shift premium: $1.70 per hour for afternoon shifts. $2.50 per hour for night shifts. $2 per hour for all employees in field operations who work on afternoon shift on Dec. 31 each year. Code India premium dirty work: Employees requiring personal protective equipment to clean up at track level after train-human contact will receive premium of 2 hours' pay equal to 200% of normal rate. $5 per hour for greater of: Minimum 4 hours or 2 for duration of area-coordinator duties. First aid attendants: $2 per hour (previously $1.50 per hour) for level 2 ($2.25 per hour effective Sept. 1, 2018); $2.50 per hour (previously $1.70 per hour) for level 3 ($2.75 per hour effective Sept. 1, 2018).
Paid holidays: 12 days.
Vacations with pay: 120 hours after 1 year, 160 hours after 8 years, 200 hours after 16 years, 240 hours after 22 years, 280 hours after 25 years.
Overtime: 200% for all hours worked after regular shift ends. May be banked, the greater of maximum 8 shifts or 80 hours per year. Bank maximum is 120 hours.
Meal allowance: One-half hour overtime pay when working more than 2 hours’ overtime. Second one-half hour overtime pay, when working more than 6 hours’ overtime.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Vision: $250 per person per year. Laser eye surgery: $1,000 per eye. Eye exams: $90 per person every 24 months.
Paramedical: Massage practitioner: $1,000 per year per person ($1,200 effective Sept. 1, 2017; $1,500 effective Sept. 1, 2018). Chiropractor: $700 per year per person. Physiotherapist: $900 per year per person. Podiatrist/acupuncturistSpeech therapist: $200 per year per person. Naturopath: $300 per year per person. Psychologist: $1,000 per year per person. Weekly indemnity: Employer pays 100% of premiums. 90% for basic restorative and preventative services, periodontics, root canal treatment and repairs and relines of prosthetics. 70% for major restorative services (crowns and bridges). 50% for orthodontic treatment. Maximum lifetime: $5,000 per person.
LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums for 50% of monthly earnings.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for $30,000 basic benefit or $100,000 business-travel accident benefit.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 150% of annual earnings to a maximum of $150,000.
Pension: Public Service Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, child, mother, father, stepchild, stepmother, stepfather, legal guardian. 3 days for death of sister, brother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandparent, grandchild.
Seniority – recall rights: 2 years.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay at 200% for all hours worked.
Probationary period: 500 hours or 65 shifts, whichever is less. Probation does not begin until employee has finished recognized-classroom training, maximum 80 hours.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months.
Severance: 6 consecutive months of service: 2 weeks’ earnings. 3 consecutive years of service: 3 weeks’ earnings. Thereafter: 1 week’s pay for each additional year of service.
Safety shoes: $200 per 12 months (previously $165 per year) or $400 every 24 months. Repairs will be reimbursed 100% by employer.
Uniforms/clothing: Where uniforms are required, they will be provided by employer. SkyTrain attendants will be provided with: 2 pairs of pants, 6 shirts, (long- or short-sleeves or turtlenecks), 2 ties or bows, 2 sweaters (long sleeves or vest), 1 all-weather jacket, 1 dress belt, 1 equipment belt (with pouch), 1 equipment bag, 1 pair of storm pants, 1 identification tag, 2 pairs of shorts, 1 hat, $40 reimbursement per year (previously $30 per year) for gloves. SkyTrain attendants will receive $20 bi-weekly cleaning allowance.
Tool allowance: Temporary technicians, tradespersons and servicepersons will receive $0.70 cents per hour tool allowance.
