Renewal agreement: Effective Feb. 13, 2019, to March 31, 2021. Ratified on Feb 13, 2019. Signed on April 5, 2019. (First agreement)
Wage adjustments:
Effective Jan. 1, 2019: 1.5%
Effective April 1, 2020: 2%
Shift premium: $2.75 per hour shall be paid for all hours worked between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. $3 per hour shall be paid for all hours worked between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. $2.75 per hour for all hours worked between 3 p.m. on Friday and 7 a.m. on Monday.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 75 hours to start, 112.5 hours after 3 years, 150 hours after 6 years, 187.5 hours after 15 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 7.75 hours per day or on scheduled day of rest. Double time after first 2 hours of overtime. May be banked and taken as time off in lieu but will be paid out if not taken by last day of March.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 65% of premiums, employee pays 35% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 65% of premiums, employee pays 35% of premiums.
Vision: Employer pays 65% of premiums, employee pays 35% of premiums.
Sick leave: 1.25 days per month, maximum 15 days per year. May be accrued, maximum 30 days. Employee who does not use any sick leave days for 1 year will be given 1 paid day off.
AD&D: Employer pays 65% of premiums, employee pays 35% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 65% of premiums, employee pays 35% of premiums.
Pension: Employer will match employee contributions, maximum 3%, to employer administered, employee self-directed, RRSP.
Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (spouse (common-law, same-sex), child, parent, brother, brother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, guardian, fiancé, stepparent, stepchildren, stepbrother, stepsister). May extend 2 additional days in extenuating circumstances and further 2 unpaid days. 1 day for death of another relative, close friend.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months.
Probationary period: 450 hours worked, exclusive of overtime hours worked.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 8 years.
Severance: 1 week’s notice after 3 months of service; 2 weeks’ notice after 2 years of service; 4 weeks’ notice after 4 years of service; 5 weeks’ notice after 6 years of service; 6 weeks’ notice after 8 years of service; 8 weeks’ notice after 10 years of service.
