Shift premium: $2 per hour when employee workers as acting supervisor (employee will be provided with employer-supplied cellphone). $3 per hour, maximum 20 hours, when majority of hours are between midnight Saturday and 7 a.m. Monday.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 100 hours to start, 120 hours after 3 years, 150 hours after 5 years, 180 hours after 7 years, 200 hours after 10 years. Employees may carry forward maximum 1 tour of vacation per year. All remaining vacation hours not used will be paid out in first 2 pay periods following end of fiscal year.
Overtime: Double time for all work after regularly scheduled hours.
Meal allowance: $10 after 5 hours; $20 after 6 hours; $30 after 10 hours. $30 daily maximum (no receipt required) when employee is at event that takes employee away from site.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Alberta Health Care Plan. Employer will provide $2,600 per year for taxable spending account to cover medical expenses. Unused portions may be carried forward into following year.

Sick leave: 1 day per month, maximum 12 days (previously 10 hours per month, maximum 120 hours).

Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse (common-law or same-sex), parent, child, brother, sister, grandchild, fiancé, stepparent, stepchildren, stepbrother, stepsister). 3 days for death of mother-in-law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, legal guardian, grandparent, niece, nephew. 1 additional unpaid day for travel more than 200 kilometres; 2 additional unpaid days for travel more than 501 kilometres away.
Seniority – recall rights: 24 months.
Call-in pay: Paid at double time, minimum 2 hours, or for total hours worked, whichever is greater. When employee is dispatched for immediate response, call-in starts at time of dispatch. When employee is dispatched for time in future, call-in starts at time ambulance is en route to call. Employer will pay $0.54 per kilometre for travel time.
Probationary period: 6 months.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year for written warnings; 2 years for suspensions; 5 years for second incident of discipline regarding violence, harassment in workplace.
Severance: 2 weeks’ pay for each year of employment, maximum 40 weeks’ pay, unless employer provides 180 days’ notice.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide 4 shirts, 2 pairs of uniform pants, 1 high-visibility jacket, crests or epaulettes as required, safety glasses. Employee will be responsible for maintaining, cleaning uniform clothing.
Mileage: $0.54 per kilometre when fleet vehicle is unavailable for employer business. Employee will be reimbursed for reasonable, necessary and substantiated transportation expenses for one-way trip of greater than 50 kilometres, maximum $100 per occurrence.
