Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2016, to April 29, 2021. Signed on Sept. 30, 2016.
Shift premium: $0.75 per hour (previously $0.65 per hour) for working second shift (4 p.m. to midnight). $1 per hour (previously $0.85 per hour) for working third shift (midnight to 8 a.m.). $1.50 per hour for all work as lead hand.
Paid holidays: 12 days, plus employee’s birthday.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 14 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 24 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 32 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Time and one-half for all work on Saturday or Sunday.
Meal allowance: $6 after working more than 2 hours past scheduled quitting time, additional $6 after 4 hours. $18 for employee working 16-hour double shift.
Dental: Maximum $1,000 per person per year. $1,000 lifetime maximum for orthodontic procedures.
STD: Coverage of $400 per week.
LTD: Employee pays 100% of coverage.
AD&D: Coverage of $30,000.
Life insurance: Coverage of $30,000.
Pension: Employer will pay RRSP contribution equivalent to $96.02 per month per employee (previously $93.23 per month). Effective May 1, 2018: $98.90 per month. Effective May 1, 2019: $101.87 per month. Effective May 1, 2020: $104.93 per month.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (grandparent, mother, father, mother-in-law, father-in-law, wife, son, foster-son, husband, daughter, foster-daughter, brother, sister. It will also include employee’s stepmother, stepfather, stepbrother, stepsister, stepson, stepdaughter when employee and steprelative have resided together in family relationship). 1 day for death of brother-in-law, sister-in-law, spouse’s grandparent.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months with less than 1 year of seniority, 24 months with more than 1 year of seniority.
Call-in pay: 4 hours’ work at appropriate overtime rate, or if work is not available, minimum 4 hours' at straight-time rates.
Probationary period: 70 accumulative working days in 12 consecutive months. 120 days worked for internal apprentices, 70 days for external apprentices.
Severance: 16 hours' pay for each complete year of service, maximum 10 years or 160 hours after permanent closure of plant.
Safety shoes: $150 per year for CSA-approved safety boots or shoes complete with metatarsal guards.
Uniforms/clothing: Maintenance employees, press operators, machine grinders will receive 2 pairs of coveralls per week. Shell machine operators and sand muller operator will receive 1 pair of coveralls per week. Employer will provide any specialized safety equipment that relates directly to job, such as aluminized clothing, fire-resistant clothing (greens), spats.
